. . . . . . .

Ten boys and four men represented Centerpointe's Outpost 49 Royal Rangers at the 2010 Potomac District Pow-Wow August 12th through 15th. The four days included: eating, fishing, hiking, eating, fire building, football, volleyball, eating, slip 'n slides, dunk tanks, making S'mores, swimming, paintball, BB shooting, more fishing, and lots of great fellowship around the campfire. Most important were the opportunities for accepting Christ and rededicating our lives to serving Him at the evening services.

The "Survivor" theme provided lots of friendly competition between our Capital Section and other sections from around Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland. The Outpost 49 Discovery Rangers received medals for taking second place in volleyball, and Gabriel Celeste won a trophy for catching the first fish in the Fishing Derby. Gabriel caught three fish in his first fishing experience!

Almost 1,000 boys and men gathered at the Broadcreek Boy Scout Camp in Whiteford, MD for this annual event.

We are proud of all of our Royal Ranger boys – we are investing in the future of the church as we build tomorrow's Christian men.

Over 100 Royal Rangers from a dozen churches gathered for competitions, good food, and camping fun. This year's theme was "Survivor". Despite the record-setting heat, everyone enjoyed the evening Council Fire services, when the boys rededicated their lives to Christ.

Eleven boys and four men from Centerpointe’s Outpost 49 attended the Capital Section FCF Trace on May 14th & 15th, 2010. FCF stands for "Frontier Camping Fellowship" and is designed as a special part of the Royal Ranger ministry for boys (ages 11+) and men. At this event, non-FCF members got to try their hand at frontier skills such as throwing knives and hawks at targets, cooking in Dutch ovens, and watching demonstrations of black powder rifle shooting and trap setting. There was also time for prayer, football, and plenty of eating!

After church services on March 21st, seven boys from the Discovery Rangers group piled into the church van with leaders Thom Clement and Rick Egan.  Destination: the National Air and Space museum in Washington D.C.    As part of their work on the Astronomy Merit, the boys visited the Exploring the Universe exhibit, the planetarium, and saw an IMAX movie called “Hubble 3D”.   Of course, their favorite part was the ride to and from on the Metro!

Today's boy is tomorrow's man. The best time to train a man is while he's still a boy. By mobilizing, inspiring, and resourcing mentors, the Royal Rangers program here at Centerpointe offers character and servant leadership education to boys (K-5) in a highly relational, fun, and interactive environment. It is our vision to influence more, and do so more effectively! Today, thanks to the innovation and devotion of our mentors to influencing boys and young men, Royal Rangers' influence continues to expand, shaping future generations one boy at a time.
